Background:  Mycoplasma bovis is a pathogen causing respiratory disease, otitis media, arthritis and mastitis in cattle worldwide.

Description:  BactoReal® Kit Mycoplasma bovis uses real-time PCR for the detection of the rpoB gene of M. bovis. Our carefully designed primers and probe ensure highest sensitivity and specificity. The kit consists of an assay mix for the detection of the pathogen as well as a positive control and an internal positive control (IPC). To minimize PCR cross-contamination,the reaction mix included contains dUTP and uracil-N glycosylase (UNG).

Frequently Asked Questions:

The assay qualitatively detects DNA of Mycoplasma bovis by targeting the rpoB gene.
The assay is validated for DNA extracted from synovial fluid, biopsies, bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL), swabs, and milk.
An artificial DNA internal positive control (IPC) is added during extraction and detected in the Cy5 channel to monitor extraction efficiency and PCR inhibition.
The assay has an analytical sensitivity of 2 target copies per PCR reaction, with a limit of detection (LoD95%) of 4 copies per reaction.
The assay contains only detection reagents and requires an external PCR mix, while the kit provides a complete reagent set including PCR mix and water.
BactoReal® , MycoReal® , ParoReal ® and ViroReal® Kits run with the same thermal cycling conditions.
